About AHCC
Formed in 1998, the Arizona Housing Counseling Collaborative (AHCC) is a statewide association of housing advocates who are dedicated to creating affordable and sustainable homeownership opportunities for Arizona residents.
Nonprofit organizations provide valuable counseling and education to help potential homebuyers overcome the common barriers to homeownership. They do this at little or no cost. The AHCC was formed to support these organizations because their expertise can prepare buyers to make the best possible investment for themselves and their families. Quarterly AHCC meetings bring training and networking opportunities to these housing professionals.
Our mission
To improve the quality, scope, and availability of homeownership education and counseling through a statewide comprehensive program which will enhance the success of homebuyers in achieving and sustaining homeownership.
Our objectives
- To adopt and implement a statewide accreditation and certification program with all housing industry partners.
- To develop a network and clearinghouse for homebuyer education providers to share information on techniques and partnerships, and to participate in ongoing training opportunities.
- To determine data to be tracked for individuals who receive counseling.
Supported and funded by the Fannie Mae Foundation and the Fannie Mae Arizona Partnership Office since its inception in 1998, the AHCC is comprised of nonprofit homeownership education and counseling organizations, HUD, the Governor's Office of Housing, USDA and other government agencies, and for-profit lending, real estate and title company partners.
Continuing support has come from the Fannie Mae Arizona Partnership Office, the Arizona Department of Commerce, Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Washington Mutual Bank, 1st National Bank of Arizona and others.
